Away from you is the Serbian guitarist and jazz composer Jovan Milovanovic’s debut album. The compositions have irregular forms, non-standard harmonic progressions and compelling interplay between the musicians. This album is Jovan’s personal story about his life and experiences as well as a dedication to his musical influences - Wayne Shorter, Bill Evans, Chick Corea, John Scofield, Mick Goodrick, Branford Marsalis, and Serbian guitarist Radomir Mihajlović Točak.
Through the peaks and valleys of extended solos, the groove is always at the center of each piece. With the many existing connections between the quartet musicians, their chemistry is hardly surprising. The result is a tapestry of styles, grooves, and influences tastefully blended into a complex and engaging whole, full of good vibes, groove and a contagious positive energy.

Came across this recordings by total coincidence. Lester Young or Dexter Gordon popped up as my points of reference regarding her tone: full, smooth, and mellow - so tenor-ish. I'm baffled and will put it on repeat ... nederlanditis
